LMI is seeking a senior level Program Manager responsible for leading a team of LMI staff and subcontractors providing program management and advisory services for the federal agencies in the medical, health, and research segment.  The PM will provide leadership in the development of high-quality technical products for the client and provide pro-active communications regularly with management and customer regarding program status. Additionally, the PM will support business development for pursuit, and capture for new opportunities with existing and new clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a focal point for managing customer and partner relationships. Maintain communication and interact with individuals at all levels of the client staff.
  • Direct and oversee a team of employee and subcontractor professionals, managing the performance and quality of LMI team support to our clients to achieve a consistently high level of client satisfaction
  • Ensure management processes, products, and/or deliverables meet requirements and are compliant with LMI and client directives, laws, policies, procedures, and guidelines, and are responsive to client needs.
  • Manages the day to day operations of the program and interfaces with client management regarding program/project issues. Respond to internal and external substantive questions and inquiries on assigned tasks, projects and business analysis.
  • Prepares and delivers project status reports and communications to client management.
  • Accountable for the management of LMI tasks in accordance with contractual requirements and in alignment with LMI’s metrics for customer satisfaction and program performance
  • Ensure effective application of staff resources through selection, performance management, and ongoing leadership. Resolves project staffing and planning issues, manages company staff assigned to the project, and ensures continuity of support during personnel changes.
  • Encourages a participative approach to work, fostering cooperation, pride, dialogue, and trust. Creates a strong, high performing team environment. Shares or delegates power and authority with staff. Uses conflict management skills to ensure an effective workplace
  • Ensures projects are completed within applicable estimated time frames and budget constraints through coordination of project approach, methods, and staffing; resolves any issues with staff, tools and methods.
  • Responsible for meeting technical, financial, operational, analytical, production, and/or contractual requirements, objectives, goals, and/or milestones.
  • Support business development and bid and proposal efforts, bringing together capabilities across LMI to define a solution that meets and exceeds client expectations.
  • Support the growth of LMI’s program management line of business by helping to evolve and promote its solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 10+ years relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge in planning, directing, and managing projects/operations in a large organization
  • Expert knowledge and supervision of employees of various labor categories and skills in efforts
  • Expert knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to project management
  • A documented successful track record delivering on-time and within budget for projects
  • Detailed knowledge of program management in the federal government
  • Expert knowledge and ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with all levels of staff, as well as clients;
  • Ability to work independently or with limited supervision;
  • Possess critical thinking, problem solving, and initiative/proactive skills;
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of tools such as MS Office Suite;
  • Possess or ability to obtain and retain a Project Management Professional certification;
  • Experience standing up and / or managing a project management office in a federal agency preferred
  • Experience working with or in the FDA preferred
