The successful applicant will become part of an analytical team that supports the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The LMI Civilian Health team is currently seeking a Senior Health Policy Analysts, specifically individuals with legal and/or policy backgrounds.  Applicants do not need to be barred, as this will be a consulting position providing policy, regulatory, and operational analysis.  These positions will focus on LMI’s work with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).


Position requires advisement and  drafting updates to client documents such as public instructions and standard operating procedures, researching guidance and regulations, drafting answers to policy help desk questions, documenting decisions, analyzing data using spreadsheets or other analytical tools, presenting complex data in easy to understand presentations, and working in a team. The successful applicant should have an understanding of changes in healthcare policy at the federal and state levels, which will aid LMI in implementing new programs from the Affordable Care Act (such as healthcare exchanges and accountable care organizations). 


The successful applicant should be comfortable working with information systems, validation and verification of data by comparing and analyzing data from various sources, and reporting findings in a meaningful way.


LMI Health is located at LMI Headquarters in Tysons, VA.  Occasional travel to Baltimore, MD may be required.



  • JD or Master’s degree in health policy, public policy, public administration, or related discipline. 
  • 5-10 years of experience in health policy analysis and project management.
  • Experience drafting policies and procedures for federal healthcare programs
  • Experience supporting clients with Healthcare and Federal government compliance
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including as SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to draft large amounts of new technical information and provide policy knowledge without a lot of guidance.
