Overview

LMI is a not-for-profit government consulting firm, dedicated exclusively to advancing the management of the government. We operate completely free of political and commercial bias, and we are entirely aligned with the goals of our clients. Federal government departments and agencies sponsor work for this position including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) within HHS. Work will be primarily conducted at LMI headquarters in Tysons, VA. Travel will vary, dependent on contract requirements.

 

LMI is looking for a Clinical SME who has an expert understanding of CMS policies and programs – specifically value-based programs within the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The successful applicant should have knowledge ofthe American Medical Association’s (AMA) Current Procedural Technology (CPT) and the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS). All work will be performed in a collaborative environment, and team skills is imperative.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on CMS value-based programs.
  • Provide expertise in health plan information and the regulatory standards related to the Affordable Care Act.
  • Provide subject matter expertise of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Current Procedural Technology (CPT) and the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS).
  • Lead a small team of health policy analysts performing ad hoc clinical analysis.

NOTE: This position will NOT be involved in drafting or influencing policy decisions made by the government. Additionally, this position will not work on Global Health initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • Degree: RN, Clinical Doctor, Ph.D in clinical or health-related field
  • 7+ years in Health Care
  • 5+ years of clinical and technical experience
  • Familiarity with CMS insurance programs and their implementations
  • Demonstrated project management skills including managing multiple stakeholders and timelines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage large amounts of data, and succeed in an agile environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience in the federal government or federal government consulting, preferred
