With the threat of transnational terrorism and ongoing development of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) by nations potentially hostile to the U.S., DHS has taken steps to integrate the full range of its radiological/nuclear, chemical, and biological threat detection programs. As the focal point for this effort, DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) requires consulting and program management support that can reinforce and better enable a more dynamic and operationally-focused DHS strategy. 

 

The person selected for this position, with limited supervision, will have the ability to evaluate processes used to analyze open source information and classified intelligence, furnished by the Government, concerning designated functional or regional areas to support advanced analytics and requirements development.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing complex in-depth all-source research and analysis related to WMD threats, and producing papers, briefings, and reports to inform leadership, pertinent offices and inter-agency members.  
  • Providrecommendations to mitigate and disrupt threats. 
  • Utilize analytic tools, TTP, and emerging technology for assessments and exploitation planning.  
  • Understand the NIPF and assist with CWMD collection requirements.  
  • Responsible for supporting customer efforts while facilitating coordination and collaboration within DHS and with other pertinent IC partners.  
  • Positions require shift work to allow for 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM coverage with team coverage for surge support of 24/7/365 when necessary. 

Qualifications

  • MA/MS degree in relevant field. In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of experience will be accepted for a BS and 5 additional years of experience will be accepted for a MS or BS +1 additional year. 
  • 3-10 years of experience in intelligence analysis. 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytic tradecraft standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers and seniors to faciliate collaboration and information sharing.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior analysts.
  • Possess a strong base of experience and depth of skills in intelligence systems and tools and have relevant experience in national, command, or law enforcement intelligence is preferred. Previous experience with CBRN/WMD-related intelligence preferred. 
  • Candidates must be able to pass a DHS Suitability Check and obtain a TS/SCI clearance . Candidates with an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility preferred.
