LMI is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Management Analyst at our client-site office in Washington, DC.  The position requires performing supply chain analysis and management studies in support of the National Nuclear Security Administration, particularly in the interest of protecting/improving access to non-nuclear materials and components for the nuclear security enterprise. The National Nuclear Security Administration is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the safety, security, and effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile without nuclear explosive testing; working to reduce global danger from weapons of mass destruction; providing the U.S. Navy with safe and effective nuclear propulsion; and responding to nuclear and radiological emergencies in the United States and beyond.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Perform and/or lead studies related to supply chain analysis and management, in areas supply chain and materials management including
    • Vendor/supplier assessment and evaluation
    • Supply chain risk management
    • Supply chain security and resiliency
    • Business case analysis (e.g. in- vs outsourcing, make vs buy, etc.)
  • Support client initiatives in identifying solutions or mitigating risks related to materials and technologies that are at-risk due to obsolescence, discontinuation, scarceness, unavailability, or usability issues.
  • Support the client for inventory and distribution business ideas, innovative solutions, and alternatives that will improve business practices and decision making.
  • Analyze and assess client and other government agency logistics and supply chain policies and procedures against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements.
  • Provide program management support, perform data analysis, develop briefings and papers for all levels of client leadership, and conduct research in support of client logistics strategy and supply chain initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, point papers, reviews and oral presentations as may be directed to translate the results from the analysis to executive decision makers.
  • Prepare and finalize correspondence including letters, memoranda, briefings, speeches, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports



    • Bachelors degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline  
    • 8+ plus years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management.
    • Good quantitative and analytical skills 
    • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
    • Superior communication skills, both oral and written 
    • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry 
    • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
    • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
    • Availability for occasional travel.
    • This position requires an active security clearance at the Secret level, with eligibility for a Top Secret. You must be a US citizen.


    • Master’s degree (Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred)
    • Ability to develop or use mathematical models and simulations of business operations.
    • Working knowledge of nuclear weapons systems, components, materials, and production processes preferred but not required
