Overview

LMI is seeking a Cost Estimator for the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office to oversee a full range of program management and technical support services for the Systems Support Directorate (SSD) to enhance the nation’s abilities to prevent terrorists and other threat actors from using weapons of mass destruction and support operational partners in closing capability gaps along adversary pathways.

 

Cost Estimator’s are responsible for the creation of cost estimates with input from the Project Management team and Subject Matter Experts including: estimation of labor; equipment and material costs; develop statement of work for subcontract pricing; creation of technical proposals all from templates, historical documentation, or from initial creation. Provide estimating data for use by Project Controls and the Project Management team upon award.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed Task Order price estimates including narratives explaining basis of estimate, ground rules and assumptions.
  • Interpret statements of work (SOW), interpret blueprints, drawing and specifications to develop work breakdown structures (WBS) and technical approach proposals both independently or with input and assistance from Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) for creation of project cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with Program Management Office (PMO) Planning and Estimating Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • 5 years of experience as a cost estimator
  • Familiarity of key industry production, process, procedure, regulatory / compliance issues and Government roles related to business area.
  • Familiarity with cost accounting standards (CAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).
  • Must have submarine alteration installation team experience (AIT).
  • Active Secret clearance desired.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a DHS Suitability Check (US Citizenship required).
