Overview

LMI is seeking a Senior Biological Scientist for the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office to oversee a full range of program management and technical support services for the Systems Support Directorate (SSD) to enhance the nation’s abilities to prevent terrorists and other threat actors from using weapons of mass destruction and support operational partners in closing capability gaps along adversary pathways.

Responsibilities

  • Applies applicable management analysis processes, modeling and simulation tools, and technical techniques to provide the services required.
  • Employs process improvement and reengineering methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization projects.
  • Provides group facilitation, interviewing, training, and additional forms of knowledge transfer.
  • Serves as key coordinator among multiple project teams to ensure enterprise-wide integration of management efforts.
  • Provides daily supervision and direction to personnel performing management analysis tasking.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required; higher level degrees preferred.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience performing management analysis
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the natural or physical sciences, engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, informatics, or related fields (higher level degrees may substitute years of experience: 2 years for a Masters or 4 years for a PhD).
  • Must have experience developing, or evaluating the development of, systems, algorithms, and approaches for complex large-scale data analysis across a range of different types of data.
  • Preferable if specialized experience described is in the area of biosurveillance.
  • Active Top Secret (with SCI eligibility preferred) clearance desired.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a DHS Suitability Check (US Citizenship required).
