Overview

LMI is seeking a Senior Logistician for the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office to oversee a full range of program management and technical support services for the Systems Support Directorate (SSD) to enhance the nation’s abilities to prevent terrorists and other threat actors from using weapons of mass destruction and support operational partners in closing capability gaps along adversary pathways.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the program logistics space in Department of Health and Human Service (DHHS) Perry Point Supply Center.
  • Monitor, manage and report on the spare Portable Sampling Unit (PSU) inventory;
  • Prepare and ship spare PSUs for deployment to approved special events, and clean/repair PSUs returned after events, as necessary.
  • Track and manage changes to the PSU physical configuration, to include analyzing continued viability of existing PSU spare parts/suppliers, analyzing jurisdictional requests to approve alternate parts, and communicating configuration changes to program partners as appropriate.
  • Order reagents and supplies for the Bio detection laboratories, as directed by the DLO.
  • Capture, analyze and report on Bio detection logistics-related information including, but not limited to, PSU operational deployment and performance data (sites and collectors, failures, repairs, etc.) as reported from the jurisdictions; field and laboratory consumable and spare parts supply and demand; and Federal partner and jurisdictional field, laboratory and BAC personnel locations and contact information.
  • Review the Field Logistics Annex and Field Web Based Data Collection Tool as requested by the DFO and update as needed.
  • Supervise logistical personnel performing tasking associated with engineering or acquisition projects, and performance-based logistics.
  • Prepare integrated logistic plans and policy and procedures for logistic support for major systems.
  • Ensure that proper logistic considerations are included in the system development processes at each major milestone.
  • Perform analyses to determine system maintainability, reliability, and supportability requirements.
  • Document results of the analysis in a report format.
  • Develop systems maintenance concepts and plans and life-cycle supply requirements and processes to meet supply requirements.
  • Perform cost analyses associated with systems logistic support and develop and reviews systems acquisition projects’ operating plans and procedures to ensure logistic support considerations are included.
  • Perform technical training, configuration management, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; Master's or PhD degree in a relevant technical area with logistics desired.
  • 10+ years’ experience in logistics/acquisition (higher level degrees may substitute years of experience: 2 years for a Masters or 4 years for a PhD).
  • Certification as a level II Program Manager/Logistics manager is desired.
  • Knowledge and experience in CBRN material as well as an understanding of the hazards associated with their manufacture, transport and use is a plus.
  • Active Top Secret (with SCI eligibility preferred) clearance desired.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a DHS Suitability Check (US Citizenship required).
