Overview

The mission of OSD-CAPE is to provide DoD with timely, insightful and unbiased analysis on resource allocation and cost estimation problems to deliver the optimum portfolio of military capabilities through efficient and effective use of each taxpayer dollar. This effort will contribute to the development of a data platform, Enterprise Visibility and Management of Operating and Support Costs (EVAMOSC), that will address known issues with operations and support cost data completeness, accuracy, granularity, and reporting frequency.

Responsibilities

The developer must have a solid understanding of AWS architecture concepts and have knowledge of best practices for high availability, scalability, resilience, performance, and security requirements in the cloud.

  • Serve as an engineer for complex AWS technology implementations in a product-centric environment.
  • Develop software applications using Agile methodology
  • Use modern software development and DevOps practices
  • Advise on AWS DevOps best practices
  • Use scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems.
  • Installs and manages open-source monitoring tools.
  • Designs and implements architecture for continuous integration, deployment, and continuous monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a computer engineering-related field from an accredited institution. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or software development-related field from an accredited institution. Additional 5 years of experience can be substituted for the bachelor's degree requirement.
  • 5 Years or higher in experience.
  • Must have an “automate everything possible” mindset, no “point and click to configure” need apply
  • Experience and expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development with Cloud Formation templates (AWS)
  • Experience with creating and maintaining cloud-based automation and monitoring
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining best practices in cloud security around access control, data, and monitoring
  • Experience with DevOps and Agile engineering practices and being an infrastructure team member on a DevOps or Agile team
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, services and methodologies
