LMI seeks an experienced person to provide oversight and coordination of facility condition assessment (FCA) teams for DHS facilities nationwide.  Position is located in Indianapolis, IN.  Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our DHS client keep our nation safe while supporting the facilitation of legitimate trade and travel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination between the FCA team and on-site DHS staff to plan the FCA site visits
  • Travel to the facilities with the team to oversee the facility assessments
  • Review draft and final FCA reports and provide recommendations and corrections as necessary
  • Perform extensive research online and other cost estimating resources to ensure deficiency and replacement cost estimates are appropriate and accurate
  • Provide project management support related to FCAs which includes providing input into the creation of statements of work for assessment support, hosting project meetings, etc.
  • Develop, track and manage the schedules of FCAs to be performed, and track completion of all required reports
  • Develop and report FCA schedule status performance and metrics
  • Coordinate and arrange travel for the team to facilities located across the country
  • Determine and recommend methodologies and approaches for aggregating, analyzing and managing associated FCA data on behalf of the government
  • Maintain FCA data and records

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, architecture, business, management, or similar field of study
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in facilities design, engineering, operations or management
  • Experience with building inspections, maintenance or condition assessments preferred
  • Previous work with DHS facilities or related portfolios preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively solve problems
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Professional certification in a relevant discipline such as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or similar is a plus

Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation (CBP BI) preferred.
