Overview

LMI, a strategic consulting organization focused on the federal government, is seeking a Program Manager with experience in leading or supporting government program management activities.  

Responsibilities

The Program Manager supports the development and enhancement of solutions for program management in support of LMI’s federal government clients. The PM will lead onsite client delivery of project, program, and portfolio management services, specifically within NASA. The position will lead LMI teams in the delivery of these services to our clients, while ensuring quality, and managing cost, schedule, and performance.  Provides support to Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements. Develops and implements PMO processes and policies, directs project management staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs

  • Responsible for the compilation of the internal project portfolio by classifying, selecting and prioritizing projects in line with company strategy, needs & resources
  • Responsible for defining standards and governance for executing tasks associated with managing projects across the company
  • Prioritize tasks, set deadlines and assign resources to each project
  • Management of larger portfolio-level projects ensuring that goals, requirements, and outcomes are defined and that the appropriate resources are allocated
  • Monitor team performance to ensure that projects are implemented, supported, and closed accurately and in accordance with key milestones and established project standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process of each project’s development and execution
  • Collaborate with internal partners on key process improvement activities and ensure these activities are integrated within the project portfolio as applicable
  • Develop and monitor controls to ensure standard processes and procedures amongst the Project Management Office
  • Collaborate and communicate with business partners to verify expectations are being met
  • Develop and foster close working relationships with leadership counterparts
  • Monitor resource capacity based on workload and forecasted volume
  • Management of internal governance meetings and presentations for Senior leadership and Executive team
  • Influencer of Best Practices and Priorities
  • Perform other duties, assignments, and/or special projects as time or circumstances necessitate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years project management office experience required
  • Minimum of 2-4 years in leadership role preferred
  • Minimum of 2-4 years working with US government in a project management role
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adept at project and change management
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative and be a self-starter, solution seeker
  • Ability to meet targets and handle high pressure environment
  • Display a capacity to learn quickly and responds well to changes and opportunities.
  • Create effective teamwork and an environment conducive to developing cross functional groups.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite required
  • PMP or Six-Sigma Certification Preferred
