Responsibilities

  • Work primarily on short-term and mid-term supply chain management tasks with technical supervision from project leaders and/or senior level consulting staff.
  • Assist in evaluating results of studies, drafting reports and preparing analyses for review.
  • Perform logistics data analysis using in-house databases, modeling, simulation, and other analytical tools
  • Analyze and assess logistics and supply chain policies and procedures against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements to include areas such as inventory, procurement, risk management, technical data, and lifecycle assessments
  • Contribute to team's preparation of project briefings, study findings, reports, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Provide program management support, perform data analysis, develop briefings and papers for all levels of government agency leadership, and conduct research in support of logistics strategy and supply chain initiatives
  • Provide technical assistance to proposal managers and/or senior staff on preparation of proposal for new and follow-on work.
  • Contribute to, and participate in, group meetings with clients.
  • Respond to internal and external substantive questions and inquiries on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Give clear oral and written explanations of assigned tasks, relevant issues, analytic approach, and results.
  • Present project methodologies and findings to LMI staff and clients.

Qualifications

  • Current student enrolled at an accredited undergraduate program at Tennessee State University, in good standing.
  • Must be a candidate for an undergraduate degree in business administration, supply chain management (preferred), industrial engineering, or related field
  • Must be available for 10-12 weeks starting in May/June 2022
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills required, with ability to develop and maintain professional relationships within LMI and with its clients.
  • Strong communication skills, a go-getter attitude, analytical skills, and use of MS Office products are mandatory
  • Ability to contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communication.
  • Strong problem solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong planning skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize assignments with minimum supervision. Must be self-directed and detail oriented in completing assigned tasks and projects.
  • Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with current security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
