Overview

LMI seeks a Strategic Communications Manager to lead delivery of impactful messaging and communication products for our DHS client.  This position is based New York City and candidates must be able to workin the New York City office up to three times per week.  Candidates also must have the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Target salary range: $90,000 - 120,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop external and internal communication strategies in support of the client’s mission and strategic direction, and act as strategic communications advisor for management
  • Coordinate development of products including communication plans, branding strategies, newsletters, annual reports, factsheets, news articles, multimedia content, etc.
  • Support the coordination of forums, workshops, and conference engagements with local, regional, and national homeland security enterprise stakeholders and partners, such as the New York Area S&T forum (NYAST) to promote and discuss advances in S&T applications
  • Provide routine, timely, and accurate communications regarding ongoing and future RDT&E activities are coordinated and distributed as necessary to identified stakeholders
  • Partner with our market and service line organizations to develop unique, innovative communications aligned with business objectives. Serve as the marketing advisor to key stakeholders within the organization
  • Monitor, analyze, and present campaign performance metrics and identify key performance indicators
  • Develop and foster relationships with key market and service line executives, subject matter experts, and business development leads
  • Support the development and production of reports, articles, presentations, scripts, talking points, testimony, web content, social media content, and press releases in a clear and concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Work with subject matter experts to understand complex information and turn it into content that is easily digestible for a wide range of readers
  • Guide business leaders and subject matter experts on effective client marketing and storytelling
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the creative services and editing divisions to deliver impactful products
  • Develop compelling and relevant content for corporate website and intranet, executive presentations, thought leadership pieces, marketing brochures, videos, online marketing tools, etc
  • Ability to handle public relations, information output, press releases and media requests, social media and/or advertising efforts
  • Support Knowledge Management (KM) activities for the client through best practice for user engagement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • At least three years of communications experience
  • Expertise in communications principles, methods, practices, and techniques, including strong presentation skills to deliver ideas and information in both speech and written form
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering strategic communications through a variety of media, including print and digital
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in multiple methods of visual communication
  • Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio, etc.
  • Proficiency with the use of Adobe products including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments 
  • Effective problem-solver
  • Work within a cross-functional team toward supporting our client’s success
  • This position requires completing a Government background invesigation.  You must be a US citizen.
