Overview

LMI is seeking a Scientist to support our Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (JPEO-CBRND) client.

Active Secret clearance preferred; only candidates eligible for a Secret level clearance will be considered (US Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

In this position, you will serve as the experimentation lead on project teams and drive the planning and execution of exercises for the JPEO-HQ. 

 

Performance Based Tasks Required:

  • Work with technical leads across the JPEO to review the maturity and applicability of candidate technologies.
  • Support risk planning efforts and providing advice and assistance in implementing process improvements for experimentation and eventual advanced development efforts.
  • Work with the exercise sponsor and players during all facets of the experimentation/exercise development, and serve as the SME on planned activities
  • Provide updates and progress reports on experimentation/exercises to JPEO and sponsors.
  • Serve as the programmatic lead on internal and external IPTs, and provide input to administrative staff who will be responsible for preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes and action items.
  • Coordinate site visits, and facilitate exercise planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation. 
  • Serve as a representative at conferences and stakeholder meetings.
  • Provide advice and technical oversight regarding concepts of operations (CONOPS) development and science and technology transition through advanced development, production, and fielding.
  • Provide technical knowledge to guide the experimentation/exercise team in establishing a robust strategy for both requirements development and technology development.
  • Provide written technical opinions to guide the decision-making process of the IPT.
  • Collaborate with project teams and participate in the evaluation of technical results in multiple product areas, developing strategies to move the program forward.
  • Propose changes to experimentation/exercise plans to produce effective and data driven results while maintaining cost, schedule, and performance parameters.
  • Provide periodic update reports to leadership.
  • Maintain current knowledge on new technologies and CONOPS that may benefit the program.
  • Assist Government personnel in leading requirements generation efforts and CONOPS development.
  • Assist Government personnel in the development of program planning budget documentation. 

Qualifications

Education, Experience and/or Certifications Required:

  • Standard Requirement: Masters in Science or Engineering or a related discipline, as well as ten (10) years of general experience and six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) highly desired.
  • Be certified as a PMP or DAWIA Level III Program Manager.
  • Possess familiarity with the review of cycles required for Joint Service requirements development and DoD acquisition program management.
  • Desired: have demonstrated experience managing experimentation to demonstrate new technologies and operational concepts to improve current Joint warfighter capabilities.
  • Desired: possess a familiarity with CBRN Defense, counter proliferation and nonproliferation policy, strategy, and readiness goals
  • Desired: have demonstrated experience managing Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Operations, Weapons of Mass Destruction Elimination, Training, Safety, and Treaty Compliance programs.
  • Possess five (5) years of working experience with Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred; only candidates eligible for a Secret level clearance will be considered (US Citizenship required).
