LMI is seeking a Senior Audit Readiness Subject Matter Expert (SME) that support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment (OASD(Sustainment)) in its mission to  assure compliance and governance to enable the delivery and sustainment of critical capabilities to U.S. Service Members and our allies. Ensures a balance of logistics and sustainment priorities, while creating and maintaining efficient and effective financial and business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise onsite skilled personnel with the needed technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of DoD audit readiness and asset management. 
  • Provide audit readiness and asset management analysis to define target state and assess feasibility and implementation of integrating asset, logistics, and financial management data bases to support standardized data reporting of materiel.  
  • Integrate asset, logistics, and financial data source for comprehensive reporting and assist the Government in implementing standardized processes that support effective asset accountability and supply chain operations.  
  • Supervise onsite skilled personnel with the needed technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of DoD asset and material management requirements to support financial statement audit and audit readiness. 
  • Complies with the Federal audit and accounting standards, Federal Laws and Regulations, Defense Logistics Management Standards, and DoD Financial Improvement andAudit Readiness(FIAR) guidelines for areas such as: tracking and reporting costs, assets, expenditures.  
  • Assess Department of the Air Force (DAF), Department of the Navy (DoN), and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) asset management systems to include data structure and interface requirements. 
  • Create structure that provides the DAF, DoN, and DLA the ability to execute well-controlled end to end asset management scope of all F-35 assets.   
  • Provide Total Asset Visibility for all F-35 supply parts through an approved DoD Accountable Property System of Record (APSR).  
  • Identify current policy, guidance, and processes for cataloging and provisioning of F-35 commodities and equipment. 
  • Communicate and coordinate with OASD(Sustainment) leadership and key stakeholders to track progress, resolve issues, and identify risks. 
  • Convey complex technical information to senior leadership in actionable formats. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Secret clearance is required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or similar business-related field. 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing audit readiness or asset management for the DoD.  
  • Specific experience in developing and executing successful holistic audit readiness and remediation strategies that can withstand independent public accounting scrutiny. 
  • Experience with asset valuation and internal control design and implementation with comparable scope to the F-35 program. 
  • Knowledgeable of DoD FIAR guidelines and approved DoD APSRs such as the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS). 
  • Strong MS Office skills (including Excel and SharePoint). 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or similar business-related field. 
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative, respectful work environment. 
  • High-energy, enthusiasm, and ability to effectively interact with clients at all levels in government and industry. 
  • Relevant certifications, such as CPA or DAWIA (Financial Management), CDFM is desired.
