Overview

LMI is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support a client in the Northern Virginia area.

 

The ideal candidate will serve in a full-time client facing role as a Senior Systems Engineer for an Intelligence Community (IC) client specializing in application development and maintenance with application instances in the cloud environment.  The candidates will demonstrate polished skills in programming and execution while managing and configuring the cloud environment for optimal usage. Lastly, candidates will provide engineering support for the client’s platform redesign.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in collaboration with existing team to enhance the analysis system leveraging the client's Proprietary capabilities. 
  • Perform tasks similar to the following, or maybe required to perform additional tasks as assigned by the client.
  • Collaborate on the integration of capabilities from different analytic tools and systems.
  • Collaborate on the design, development, and testing of the capabilities being integrated.
  • Implement capabilities that yield informative and predictive insights from data processed.
  • Engineer solutions in the form of tool integration, development, and scripts that will meet use cases and provide additional capabilities to answer questions that may not have been otherwise answered with the data.
  • Evaluate the client’s current strategy for Packet Capture (PCAP) data processing, and provide suggestions on potential enhancements that advance use cases and lead to more cost effective solutions.

Qualifications

  • +5 years of experience with systems administration.
  • +7 years of experience with Python.
  • Demonstrated experience of client systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with maintaining web servers
  • Demonstrated experience with IIS and Nginx
  • Demonstrated experience with General server and Storage (S3) volume management and backups within AWS
  • Demonstrated experience managing clusters, managing database users and permissions, and maintaining replication in MongoDB database management
  • Demonstrated experience with, or a working knowledge of, authentication and authorization systems and standards
  • Demonstrated experience with, or a working knowledge of, web security standards
  • Demonstrated experience with, or a working knowledge of, network systems and protocols
  • Demonstrated experience with, or a working knowledge of, the Sponsor’s security requirements for stand-alone devices
  • Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and SQL’s such as Data Manipulation Language (DML).
  • Experience developing and implementing software enhancements to mission systems for Government agencies.
  • Experience integrating multiple applications.
  • TS/SCI with full scope polygraph required.
