Overview

LMI is seeking a dynamic Technical Sourcer to drive our in-house talent acquisition efforts, with a focus on identifying top-tier technology professionals. This fully remote role requires occasional in-person support for recruiting events across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV). As a valued partner to our recruiting team, the Technical Sourcer will leverage cutting-edge sourcing strategies to attract exceptional technical talent for critical roles in government consulting. Local residency in the DC, MD, VA area is required to ensure effective participation in key recruiting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the recruiting team to develop and refine sourcing strategies for high-demand technical roles, ensuring alignment with LMI’s goals in the government consulting space.
  • Act as a key resource for technical sourcing, utilizing deep expertise in market trends, talent mapping, and competitor intelligence to identify top-tier technical talent.
  • Collaborate with recruiting managers and technical hiring teams to understand role requirements and provide strategic insights on candidate profiles, sourcing channels, and talent availability.
  • Design and execute creative sourcing campaigns using advanced sourcing tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Stack Overflow) to engage passive candidates in hard-to-fill roles.
  • Support the full recruitment lifecycle by building a strong pipeline of technical candidates, conducting outreach, and nurturing relationships to drive candidates through the hiring process toward offer acceptance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for internet sourcing, including Boolean search techniques, X-ray searches, and other advanced sourcing methodologies to expand candidate reach.
  • Provide regular pipeline updates and sourcing insights to recruiters and hiring managers, helping to anticipate and mitigate potential bottlenecks in the talent pipeline.
  • Collaborate with recruiting teams to manage candidate expectations, market trends, and compensation insights, ensuring seamless coordination between sourcing efforts and overall recruitment goals.
  • Build a robust pipeline of passive technical talent, keeping a bench of skilled professionals for long-term hiring needs while maintaining detailed records of sourcing activity in applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Actively engage in networking and talent acquisition events (e.g., hackathons, technical conferences) to deepen connections within the technical community and expand outreach efforts.
  • Lead sourcing for specialized or ad hoc projects, such as proposal recruiting or surge hiring for high-priority technical programs. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in technical sourcing or recruiting, preferably within the government consulting, defense, or technology sectors.
  • Expertise in identifying and attracting passive technical candidates through a wide variety of resources through (e.g., resume databases, social media, tech forums).
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced sourcing techniques using Boolean search as well as other methods. 
  • Proven experience sourcing technical roles such as software engineers, data scientists, systems architects, cybersecurity specialists, or cloud engineers.
  • Knowledge of OFCCP compliance and government contracting recruiting standards, with the ability to track and manage requisitions for compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding key recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, interview-to-hire ratios, quality of hire) while managing multiple requisitions for complex technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of technical recruiting best practices, employment laws, and government contracting hiring requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate and support recruiting teams in a fast-paced, technical environment
