Overview

LMI is seeking an Acquisition Specialist at our customer site in Arlington, VA. Successful candidates will demonstrate competency in communication and critical thinking while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior. This is a hybrid position, offering a combination of telework and onsite work.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility will be to provide acquisition policy and guidance support for Department of Defense correspondence, reports, and meetings. The individual should be detail-oriented and able to successfully work in fast-paced environments. Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide acquisition or contracting policy research, analysis, and support
  • Assist with the coordination, writing, and editing of internal and external correspondence, reports, and briefings
  • Support responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) reporting requirements to Congress
  • Assist the Government in preparing and maintaining formal staffed packages
  • Prepare for meetings with internal or external partners

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) or higher
  • At least 2 years of relevant acquisition experience, preferably with Department of Defense
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • This position requires an active security clearance, at the SECRET level, for which you must be a US citizen.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of the Department of Defense Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS)
  • Experience with Defense acquisition and contracting
  • Experience in responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to effectively problem solve
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external staff members
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities

Targeted Salary Range: 68,000 - 100,000
