Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled junior Logistics Research Analyst to provide day-to-day analytical and strategic logistics support services to the office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics (ODASD(Logistics)). DASD(Logistics) serves as a principal staff assistant and advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment (ASD(S)), Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment (USD(A&S)), and Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) on logistics and materiel readiness in the Department of Defense (DoD) and is the principal logistics official within the senior management of the DoD.

Responsibilities

Support for the Commercial Support to Operations Directorate Portfolio (Operational Contract Support, Private Security Contractors, and Vendor Threat Mitigation) with focus areas being:

  • Managing, monitoring, and tracking incoming tasking from higher level offices through OSD's Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS).
  • Providing quality assurance, review and editing correspondence, work packages, for grammar, spelling, and formatting. 
  • Researching relevant topics including statute and policy and provides results and recommendations as required.
  • Developing and delivering briefings as required to provide the results of analysis performed.
  • Supporting/assisting other Directorate team members in the development of briefings, updates to public web sites and other communication materials. 
  • Providing organizational support for Directorate led events and meetings. 
  • Perform liaison with staffs of government officials, private industry, special interest, and user groups.
  • Respond to inquiries on policy and other matters on behalf of and consistent with the government lead’s views.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (business or logistics related preferred) 
  • 2 year's relative experience
  • Prior military or DoD civilian/contractor experience (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry as well as Pentagon staff members.
  • Ability to excel in a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Current DoD Security Clearance at the SECRET level; US citizenship required.

Targeted Salary Range: $68,000-$119,000
