Overview

LMI is seeking a Research Analyst to support our team within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), ASD(Energy, Installations, and Environment). The position will be located at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Translate DASD(ERO)’s strategic goals and objectives into actionable tasks, facilitating their execution through stakeholder engagement, process management, and cross-organizational communication.
  • Stay well-informed of legislative and regulatory developments related to energy and national security.
  • Prepare the DASD for events and engagements, including occasional speechwriting and strategic integration with external points of contact
  • Collaborate closely with directorate leads to drive strategic alignment and ensure progress on key initiatives and task completion
  • Manages CATMS correspondence, ensuring adherence to proper processes and task management procedures
  • Maximize the impact of all external communications by working in sync with the strategic communications team to ensure message consistency, clarity, and alignment with overarching priorities.
  • Proactively engage with Legislative Affairs to identify and capitalize on opportunities to shape legislative priorities and ensure alignment between the office and Congress.
  • Centralize office efforts by streamlining processes, improving information flow, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
  • Evaluate potential DASD engagements through a strategic lens, prioritizing opportunities that advance key initiatives, foster critical relationships, and amplify the office's message.

Qualifications

  • TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • 5 or more years of experience supporting DoD or other Federal agencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Prior experience providing administrative support to senior DoD leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external staff members, and the ability to work independently and take a proactive role.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks according to senior staff requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to interact effectively with senior executives from Government and industry as well as Pentagon staff members.
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
