Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Architect with demonstrated competency in project execution, leadership, critical thinking, relationship management, and solving complex challenges while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior. This position will support the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) within the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to transform complex data into actionable insights, driving informed decision-making processes in healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

Providing direct support to the Defense Health Agency (DHA), this Data Architect will:

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable data architecture solutions to meet DHA's evolving needs.
  • Analyze and translate business requirements into technical specifications and data models.
  • Lead data integration and migration projects, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide and develop optimal data strategies and solutions.
  • Optimize database performance through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and implement data cleansing procedures.
  • Identify and address potential data-related risks and challenges.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture and processes.
  • Continuously research and integrate new data technologies and tools to enhance overall system efficacy.

Qualifications

**Mininum:**

 

● Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database design.
● Proficiency in SQL and other database management systems.
● Experience with data integration, ETL tools, and techniques.
● Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
● Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
● Certification in data management or related fields is a plus.
● Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulations is preferred.

 

 

**Preferred:**

 

● Advanced knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
● Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase.
● Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
● Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
● Demonstrated experience with machine learning models and algorithms.
● Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
● Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
● Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
● Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices related to data protection.
● Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
● Previous experience working with federal agencies or in a government contracting environment.

 

The target salary range is- $99,161.74- $171,168.42
