Overview

LMI is seeking a mid-level consultant with a focus on supply chain management to provide support to the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) Program within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (OASD(IBP)). This position serves as a Project Lead for ICAM (Industrial Capability Assessment and Management) proposals submitted by industry supporting emerging technologies and munitions. This is a hybrid opportunity. Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC area/within a commutable distance to LMI's Tyson's location as needed for required meetings, which may be on short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Lead in overseeing the cost, schedule, and performance of $90M in kinetic capabilities RDT&E projects.
  • Assess congressional line items centered around investment in critical and emerging technologies, including munitions systems.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities for supply chain and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Conduct comprehensive supply chain management assessments to ensure the reliability and efficiency of supply chains critical to the kinetic capabilities sector.
  • Report project status to the Kinetic Capabilities Sector Lead.
  • Support in-person meetings in the Pentagon with the OUSD(R&E) Principal Deputy for Hypersonics.
  • Review and coordinate on project status reports and other documents over JWICS.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a core logistics discipline with at least 8 years experience in DoD supply chains or other relevant area, or Masters Degree and 5 years relevant experience. 
  • Experience in various aspects of supply chain management, especially in the context of manufacturing process improvements and technology assessments.
  • Must have general understanding or at least some experience of kinetic capabilities (missiles, hypersonics, munitions/ammo, directed energy) within the DoD.
  • Effective analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, and ability to effectively interact with clients at all levels within Government and industry
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities
  • Active TS/SCI eligibility.
  • Located in the National Capital Region.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional) that can substitute for less experience in project management as needed.
  • Experience in supply chain management, acquisition or RDT&E related to any DoD system.
  • Any experience in Defense Industrial Base or DoD Organic Industrial Base

Targeted Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
