Overview

LMI is seeking a Cloud Engineer (AWS) to support activities for a United States Army client developing Cloud Modernization effort for Force Management Capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the infrastructure that applications will run on.
  • select the appropriate hardware and software components, configure the networking and storage resources and create security policies.
  • Ensure all new software functions smoothly across various programs and platforms, including mobile systems.
  • Automate the testing, deployment and configuration management processes
  • Maintain the underlying infrastructure including hardware, software and storage resources to ensure the infrastructure’s reliability, scalability and security. 
  • Maintain the overall health and stability of the applications that run on their organization's platform.
  • Meet with managers and representatives of Army to discuss software issues and brainstorm methods of solving existing problems.
  • Write original code and update existing code, ensuring that all code meets program requirements.
  • Perform intensive testing of all new and existing programs to ensure they are free of errors and function as intended.
  • Update and debug existing systems to ensure a smooth user experience and a uniform look across a variety of platforms.
  • Keep up to date on the newest technological innovations in the field and be ready to apply relevant innovations to our software systems.
  • Patching and maintaining VMs and Databases
  • Update software versions of toolsets and containers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer science, economics, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 5-years of hands-on experience in designing, executing, and supporting AWS environments
  • Experience with maintaining hybrid cloud solutions
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • Expert level knowledge of Linux command line
  • Expert level knowledge of cloud & hybrid networking solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with EKS
  • Experience with security requirements in a federal IT environment, including FedRAMP-certified providers and FISMA requirements for acquiring an ATO
  • Demonstrated AWS GovCLoud experience
  • Experience with Agile and containerization methodologies or strategies
  • Knowledge IDAM requirements and technologies, including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, hardware tokens, OAuth 2.0, or OIDC.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (SEC+ or other)
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience working in IL6 or equivalent secure environments
  • Agile certifications
  • Experience with Cross-Domain Solutions (IL5 / IL6)
  • AWS Advanced Networking certification
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional certification
  • CKA or CKAD
  • Experience architecting and deploying cloud based solutions for the US Army
  • Knowledge of US Army communications and current digital solutions

Target salary range: $120,000-180,000
