Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled logistics or sustainment professional for the role of Spares Readiness Review Board Sr. Consultant, supporting a client located in Dayton, OH The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, planning, and management of weapon system spares and sustainment resources. This includes supporting strategic logistics planning, participating in the Spares Requirements Review Board (SRRB), and contributing to readiness initiatives. The role requires a strong understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) logistics systems, supply chain analytics, and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. The candidate must be capable of analyzing data, forecasting spares requirements, and coordinating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Analyze weapon system sustainment needs and develop spares requirements to support readiness goals.
  • Support the Spares Requirements Review Board (SRRB) by preparing data packages, coordinating inputs, and validating requirement forecasts.
  • Use historical usage data, performance trends, and readiness models to forecast demand.
  • Evaluate Cost Per Flying Hour (CPFH) and Non-Flying Hour Per Flying Hour (NFHP) metrics for accuracy and planning inputs.
  • Contribute to the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process for logistics and spares funding.
  • Assist in reconciling budget submissions between Program Offices and Asupply forecasts.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across supply, depot-level organizations, and Major Commands (MAJCOMs).
  • Support integration with other logistics efforts like the Depot Maintenance Review Team (DMRT) and Readiness-Based Sparing (RBS).
  • Identify shortages, bottlenecks, and systemic issues impacting mission capable (MC) rates.
  • Recommend corrective actions and long-term sustainment strategies.
  • Prepare and present findings, analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership and working groups.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply availability and readiness.
  • Ensure alignment with logistics regulations
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for logistics planning and supply support processes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline  
  • 10+ plus years’ experience in DoD logistics and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of commercially based advanced modeling, networking, scheduling and inventory optimization systems and techniques in order to support development of supply, inventory management, and distribution policy to improve materiel management of spare part inventories.
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written 
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry 
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Availability for occasional travel.
  • This position requires an active security clearance. You must be a US citizen.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Master’s degree (Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred)
  • Prior military or DoD civilian/contractor experience
  • Enterprise weapons systems maintenance and sustainment knowledge
  • On site desired, contractor facility locations are authorized by the government.
