LMI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Aerospace Engineer to join our growing team in supporting advanced aerospace and defense initiatives. The ideal candidate will assist with the design, analysis, and testing of aerospace systems and contribute to cutting-edge projects in modeling, simulation, and mission planning. This candiate support our Space Market customers. Successful LMI Space Domain Aerospace Engineers demonstrate competency in critical thinking, relationship management, space domain understanding, lunar orbits, and data analysis while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior. The ideal candidate will have experiecne with MATLAB and an entry level of experience with Python.

Support the development and analysis of aerospace vehicle performance, trajectory modeling, and mission simulations.
Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to design and evaluate aerospace systems.
Assist in preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and customer stakeholders.
Contribute to tool development using MATLAB, Python, or similar software for data analysis and automation.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Solid foundation in orbital mechanics, aerospace dynamics, or propulsion systems.
Proficiency in engineering tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or C++.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
U.S. citizenship (required for working with government contracts).
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if not already held).
Desired:
Internship or co-op experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
Familiarity with tools like STK, GMAT, or similar simulation platforms.
Exposure to systems engineering principles or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Target salary range: $90,000 - $183,000
