We are actively seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer, Solutions Architect to join our innovative team in developing and deploying a real-time asset tracking solution for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). In this role, you will play a critical part in evolving and implementing a scalable platform that incorporates active RFID (aRFID) hardware, passive RFID (pRFID) hardware, modern cloud computing environments, and high-impact software applications. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a bias for action and an ability to communicate well with diverse internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate also possesses deep expertise in software development, a strong understanding of RFID or IoT systems, experience dealing with complex DoD cyber accreditation issues, and a passion for driving technological modernization in support of U.S. warfighters.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

· Provide technical oversight associated with the deployment of a cutting-edge asset tracking solution to the U.S. Army.

· Engage with representatives from the U.S. Army and other critical DoD organizations to understand mission requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

· Lead the effort to ensure that technical delivery information is properly and effectively communicated with internal stakeholders and key customer representatives.

· Oversee Risk Management Framework (RMF) /Authority to Operate (ATO) compliance activities—including the drafting of system architecture documentation, the management of system security controls, establishment of Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs), and coordination with information System Security Managers (ISSMs) and Information System Security Officers (ISSOs).

· Conduct technical reviews of current system implementation plans to ensure conformance to contract requirements, customer needs, and best practices.

· Mentor and provide guidance to junior or non-technical staff, and collaborate with senior leaders, to ensure technical objectives are achieved.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

· 7 years minimum of experience as a software engineer or solutions architect.

· Track record of successful delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

· Experience working with cloud infrastructure technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).

· Demonstrated understanding of DoD cybersecurity RMF and cybersecurity best practices.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

· Demonstrated ability to deliver rapid prototype solutions to client problems.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent ability to collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team.

· Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with deploying complex technology solutions to the U.S Army.

· Familiarity with the deployment, configuration, or testing of active and/or passive RFID hardware (including readers, antennas, tags).

· Familiarity with the design, implementation, and/or management of satellite-based backhaul systems (e.g. Starlink, Iridum), secure VPNs, and/or LAN/WAN infrastructures.

· Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

 

Target salary range: $160,000 to $200,000
