This position is onsite in Washington, DC and cannot be worked remotely. 

Responsibilities

LMI is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Management Senior Consultant at our client site in Washington DC. Successful LMI Consultants demonstrate competency in client engagement, leadership critical thinking, relationship management, and business growth while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.

 

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with client stakeholders, ensuring expectations are understood, met, and exceeded.
  • Serve as a key liaison between program teams and clients, translating logistics business needs into actionable technical solutions.
  • Innovate, implement and oversee the use of digital logistics solutions.
  • Coordinate across technical teams, business units, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure integration of new capabilities.
  • Drive process improvement and standardization across logistics operations, embedding digital tools and best practices into daily operations.
  • Provide thought leadership on logistics modernization and digital trends to help guide client decision-making.
  • Support the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities in the logistics and digital transformation space.
  • Contribute to proposal development, solution design, and capture strategy.
  • Provide input into strategic planning and capability development based on evolving client needs and market trends.
  • Promote collaboration across cross-functional teams and foster an environment that supports innovation, learning, and execution excellence.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or information systems.
  • 8+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations within the Federal Government or parcel delivery industry required.
  • Strong understanding of logistics platforms and digital tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, business intelligence dashboards).
  • Familiarity with digital enablers such as AI/ML, predictive analytics, and digital twins in supply chain settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on executive presence and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting or working with U.S. federal government clients, particularly in a consulting capacity.
  • Public Trust required, or ability to obtain a Public Trust. 

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Logistics Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience working with or supporting federal agencies—especially the United States Postal Service (USPS), DoD, or civilian logistics-focused agencies.
  • Proven experience engaging directly with clients and supporting business development or growth initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of SAFe and Scrum frameworks, including experience participating in or supporting sprints and cross-team coordination for scaled events.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
