LMI is seeking a Facilities Planner and Designer. This position will support NASA’s HQ Support Services Division (SSD) with facilities and workplace planning-related activities Work to be performed onsite (five days per week) at NASA HQ in Washington, DC.
The Facilities Planner/Interior Designer bridges user needs with technical deliverables, focusing on optimizing workspace layout, finishes, and furnishings. This role supports feasibility studies and cost estimates by developing design options that balance function, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Conduct workplace research, space reduction, and workstation standardization studies.
Develop space planning solutions and design deliverables for review and costing.
Prepare and document interior finish selections aligned with lease requirements.
Support workflow analysis and process improvement in workspace design.
Provide furniture specifications, including reuse and procurement options, with cost implications.
Coordinate and document move logistics, including scheduling and damage resolution.
Support cost estimating by developing alternative design and furnishing options.
Assist with construction oversight to ensure design intent is carried through.
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Facilities Planning.
5+ years of workplace or facilities planning experience.
Knowledge of interior finishes, furnishings, and workplace standards.
Ability to translate customer requirements into functional design solutions.
Familiarity with construction and move coordination processes.
NCIDQ certification or similar credential.
Experience supporting cost estimating and budget development for workplace projects.
Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit or CAD software.
Experience with federal or NASA facilities.
Target salary range: $85,000 - $140,000
