Overview

LMI is seeking a Security Specialist who will security administrative expertise for our government customer in specialties such as Physical, Information, and Industrial Security. The position will be located at the Pentagon. This position requires an Active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide general physical security knowledge with an emphasis in industrial and physical security standards for OUSD A&S client
  • Analyze complex physical security issues and provide cost-effective recommendations that meet policy requirements
  • Prepare/review Fixed Facility Checklists and documentation supporting SCIF accreditation process, compartmented area approval and secure area approval process
  • Draft, review, and maintain internal policy documents, standard operating procedures, and instructional handouts pertaining to Physical and Industrial Security
  • Provide oversight and audit key and lock, GSA container, and alarm testing and maintenance programs in accordance with applicable DoD policy requirements
  • Conduct staff assistant visits
  • Advise on matters related to sharing, marking, safeguarding, storage, dissemination, declass or decontrol, records management, and destruction, as well as reporting requirements
  • Use DoD security directives, instructions, standards, and guidelines to enforce compliance and mitigate security risks
  • Review and provide assistance with developing DD254s
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision to continuously update security programs, and deliver solutions that facilitate our client's mission
  • Give clear oral and written explanations of assigned tasks, relevant issues, analytic approach, and results

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • TS/SCI clearance is required
  • 5 or more years of experience supporting DoD or other Federal agencies
  • Bachelor’s degree is desired
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience as a junior or non-commissioned officer leading DoD programs is highly desired.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external staff members, and the ability to work independently and take a proactive role
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks according to senior staff requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to interact effectively with senior executives from Government and industry as well as Pentagon staff members.
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.

Targeted Salary Range: $105,000-$112,000
