LMI is a consultancy dedicated to improving the business of government, drawing from deep expertise in advanced analytics, digital services, logistics, and management advisory services. Established in 1961, LMI is a trusted third party to federal civilian, national security, and defense agencies, operating free of commercial and political bias. For nearly 60 years, LMI has worked with 40 government agencies. We believe government can make a difference, and we seek talented, hardworking, mission-driven people who share that conviction.

Who We Are We’re building the next generation of RFID, GPS tagging, and sensor-mesh solutions that power mission-critical operations across the DoD. Our technology doesn’t just move data—it moves missions. And while we’re engineers at heart, we know that adoption and growth depend on clear, compelling storytelling.

As our Communications Specialist, you’ll be the creative force that makes our technology real for customers and prospects. You’ll craft the videos, demos, and narratives that bring our solutions to life—helping us engage current clients, win new ones, and shape how the DoD sees the future of connected operations.

This position requires a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a Communications Specialist who can do more than write memos—you’ll be our in-house creative engine. From short-form video snippets and product demos to compelling customer stories and marketing collateral, you’ll craft the content that drives awareness among existing DoD clients and opens doors to new ones. Think of this role as what we’d normally hire a marketing agency to do—but embedded in our mission-focused team.

This role is equal parts storyteller, content creator, and brand evangelist. If you can take complex technology and translate it into crisp, visual, and memorable narratives that resonate with defense leaders, this is your chance to make a direct impact.

What You'll Do

· Create multimedia content: Develop video snippets, product demo reels, animations, infographics, and other marketing assets that showcase our solutions in action.

· Tell the story: Translate technical concepts into clear, engaging narratives for senior defense leaders and end-users alike.

· Fuel sales & marketing: Partner with business development to create decks, one-pagers, and customer-facing collateral that highlight our value proposition.

· Build campaigns: Develop and execute communication strategies that drive awareness with current customers and generate excitement with new prospects.

· Own digital presence: Support internal/external platforms (SharePoint, Teams, LinkedIn, etc.) with consistent, high-quality content.

· Measure & refine: Track engagement and effectiveness of campaigns; adjust strategies based on data and feedback.

· Maintain standards: Ensure all content aligns with brand, tone, and DoD communication requirements.

· Be creative under constraints: Balance innovation with the realities of working in secure, compliance-heavy environments.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

· 3+ years of experience in communications, content marketing, or creative media.

· Proven ability to produce video, digital, and visual content (portfolio required).

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify technical topics.

· Experience supporting marketing or sales teams with collateral and campaign assets.

· Proficiency with design/video tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Premiere, etc.).

· Understanding of social media platforms and trends in B2G marketing.

· U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Bonus Points For:

· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

· Experience creating marketing content for technology, defense, or government clients.

· Familiarity with DoD culture, programs, and acquisition cycles.

· Background in digital storytelling, brand campaigns, or agency-style creative work.
