Overview

LMI is actively seeking a dynamic, experienced Mobile Application Developer with a strong background in modern software development. This role involves translating design concepts into responsive, high-performance software applications. This position is located in the Northern VA/DC metro area. Travel within CONUS will be required on occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Front-End Development: 
  • Design, develop, and maintain the front-end components of a native mobile application using frameworks such as React Native, SwiftUI, or Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM). 
  • Optimize UI components for performance and responsiveness on both Android and iOS platforms. 
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure a seamless and visually appealing user experience. 
  • Integration and Collaboration: 
  • Work closely with back-end developers to integrate APIs and ensure data accuracy and security. 
  • Implement real-time data syncing, caching, and offline functionality as required. 
  • Testing and Debugging: 
  • Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure functionality and adherence to quality standards. 
  • Collaborate with the QA team to resolve bugs and optimize performance. 
  • Documentation and Standards: 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for front-end code and processes. 
  • Ensure compliance with ATIS security and accessibility standards, including 508 compliance and DoD guidelines. 
  • Continuous Improvement: 
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance app development practices. 
  • Contribute to discussions on new features, technical challenges, and system improvements. 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Equivalent years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • 5+ years of experience in front-end development, preferably with a focus on mobile applications. 
  • Proficiency in React Native
  • Proficiency with native Swift, or Kotlin
  • Strong understanding of mobile app architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, etc.). 
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling JSON data. 
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, XCTest, or Espresso. 

Preferred: 

  • Familiarity with the SAFe Agile methodology and tools like Gitlab. 
  • Experience with military or government projects. 
  • Knowledge of security best practices for mobile applications. 
  • Certification in mobile app development or related technologies. 

Additional Skills: 

  • Knowledge of backend development technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Java is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for mobile apps. 

 

Location: 

The position may require occasional travel within CONUS

Clearance: 

Candidates must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Current clearance is preferred. 

 

Target salary range: $109,242 - $189,108
