Overview

LMI is seeking an experienced, business minded and forward-thinking Human Resources Business Partner to lead strategic talent initiatives in partnership with our business from our headquarters in Tysons, VA. This role is ideal for a high-impact HR professional who blends business knowledge, acumen and understanding, data driven decisions/solutions, technology enabled, and innovative thinking to solve complex business/people challenges. This person will work cross-functionally to drive programs that elevate our people, performance, and culture.

 

The position operates in a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence at our Tysons Corner, VA location approximately three days per week, in alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities

Strategic Partner

  • Partner with business leaders to align workforce plans, talent strategies, and organizational goals.
  • Use data and insights to shape people plans that drive performance, engagement, and growth through SLAs and outcomes.
  • Serve as a thought partner on leadership development, succession planning, and workforce optimization. Serve as a trusted partner and advisor to senior leaders, aligning talent strategies with business goals and outcomes.

Operations Partnership

  • Serve as the bridge between the business and enterprise resources—helping leaders tap into the full range of talent, learning, total rewards, quality, and culture capabilities available across the organization.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of performance management, professional development, and workforce engagement programs with the business.
  • Anticipate workforce needs and connect leaders with the right internal expertise, tools, and data to drive performance and engagement.
  • Translate business needs into actionable talent strategies and solutions using data, analytics, and outcomes.
  • Support performance management, compensation reviews, and workforce analytics with precision and consistency.
  • Assess current and future workforce capabilities, identifying gaps and developing solutions that drive results including organization design and effectiveness.
  • Work with leaders/PMs to start up and optimize our programs and delivery to our clients through high performing teams and the right talent in the right roles.
  • Build and track success metrics to demonstrate ROI for talent initiatives.

Employee Champion

  • Champion a seamless, end-to-end employee experience — ensuring every stage of the journey, from onboarding to career growth, feels connected, intentional, and empowering.
  • Partner with leaders to equip employees with the tools, resources, and clarity they need to perform and thrive.
  • Use insights and feedback to continuously improve engagement, enablement, and retention, helping every employee feel valued and supported in their work.
  • Ensure enterprise initiatives (e.g., learning, performance, mobility) are translated into meaningful actions and touchpoints that resonate with employees and leaders alike.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on career growth, performance, and engagement.
  • Actively contribute to initiatives that promote belonging, recognition, and development.

Change Agent

  • Lead change management efforts for high-impact initiatives (e.g., project startups/expansions, reorganizations, and digital transformations).
  • Support organizational change initiatives by fostering clear communication, alignment, and adoption.
  • Coach leaders and teams through transformation, ensuring changes enhance mission delivery and culture.
  • Champion agility, innovation, and continuous improvement across people practices.
  • Leverage AI and digital tools to streamline processes, optimize efficiencies, and enhance decision-making.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-10 years of progressive experience in human resources, with specific experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Business Partner, preferably in a technology platform or government contracting.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with leaders and influence through credibility and partnership.
  • Demonstrated experience advising and influencing senior leaders on strategic talent priorities and working directly with business transformation efforts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience using AI, automation, and data to drive talent solutions at scale.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and ability to translate data into insights that influence action.
  • Deep understanding of HR compliance, workforce planning, and industry trends, particularly in technology and government solutions. .
  • High emotional intelligence with a collaborative, adaptable, and forward-thinking mindset.
