Overview

LMI seeks a Software Integration & Test Engineer to support the U.S. Army Center for Initial Military Training’s (CIMT) Holistic Health & Fitness Management System (H2FMS). H2FMS is a secure environment in Army GovCloud that integrates the vendor-provided H2F data capture application with cloud-hosted services, data pipelines, analytics, AI models, and a custom user interface.

 

As part of the H2FMS technical team, the Integration & Test Engineer ensures system components work together seamlessly, meet functional and security requirements, and operate reliably in Army environments. This role supports the Full Stack Developers, Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, DevSecOps team, Cybersecurity team, and TPM to execute integration testing, functional testing, regression testing, interface validation, and defect management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct integration testing across UI components, backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-hosted resources.
  • Validate secure and correct data flows between the vendor-provided H2F application and H2FMS components.
  • Verify configuration, compatibility, interoperability, and compliance across environments (DEV, TEST, STAGING, PROD).
  • Support testing of AI/ML model outputs and readiness analytics integrations.
  • Develop test plans, use cases, test scripts, and acceptance criteria based on system requirements.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate:
    • Functional correctness
    • Usability
    • Performance
    • Security control behavior
    • Resilience and error handling
  • Support regression testing following deployments, configuration changes, or updates to vendor data integrations.
  • Work with DevSecOps engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop automated test workflows for API endpoints, data services, and user interface components.
  • Contribute to build validation, smoke tests, and automated deployment verification.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution in tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Perform root-cause analysis with developers, cloud engineers, and data teams.
  • Validate fixes and ensure no regressions before promoting code to higher environments.
  • Verify correct ingestion, transformation, tagging, and storage of data sourced from the vendor-provided H2F application.
  • Ensure dashboards, analytics models, and UI components display accurate and complete data.
  • Coordinate with Data Engineers and AI/ML teams to validate data integrity during integration cycles.
  • Support Cybersecurity Engineers and ISSO teams during security testing, control validation, and STIG compliance checks.
  • Assist in verifying that system behavior aligns with RMF, cATO, and Zero Trust requirements.
  • Support continuous monitoring activities as they relate to system functionality.
  • Maintain test documentation, procedures, test cases, results summaries, and traceability matrices.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
  • Provide input to requirement refinement, user story acceptance criteria, and technical design discussions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in software testing, system integration, or QA engineering.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans for complex distributed systems, cloud-hosted applications, or data-driven platforms.
  • Familiarity with API testing, integration testing, system testing, and automated testing tools.
  • Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Location: Remote.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to Fort Eustis, VA or LMI HQ in Tysons, VA 1–2 times per quarter for planning and team collaboration.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD programs, Army environments, or GovCloud deployments.
  • Experience with test automation tools (Postman, Selenium, Cypress, pytest, Robot Framework, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, cATO, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience validating data pipelines, data models, analytics dashboards, or AI/ML outputs.

The target salary range: $110,000 - 140,000. The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
