Overview

LMI is seeking a Senior Research Specialist (SharePoint Administrator) to support our team within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). This role supports the A&S Directorate for Business Operations via the comprehensive management and maintenance of SharePoint environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience. It encompasses platform installation, user access control, data management (including PULSE data integration and CATMS task management), troubleshooting, and providing end-user training and support. The Administrator also develops visually compelling web interfaces, ensures network infrastructure compliance with security policies, and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of SharePoint functionality, graphic design principles, and fundamental JavaScript concepts, as well as experience providing technical guidance and executive-level support, preferably within the DoD or other federal agencies. Communication with the organization’s senior-level staff and collaboration with a broad range of personnel is also required. The position will be located at the Pentagon. This position requires an Active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

SharePoint Site Management:

  • Installing platforms, integrating applications and creating libraries.
  • Adding users, controlling access and setting permissions.
  • Performing maintenance to the SharePoint platform, servers, intranet and external facing sites.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues or malfunctions.
  • Providing support and end-user training.
  • Performing data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss.
  • Ensuring sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data according to organization records management guidelines.
  • Reviewing usage and activity reports and making adjustments to ensure optimized user-experience.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure network infrastructure compliance with security policies and standards, encompassing encryption management, security zone configuration, and firewall administration.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of SharePoint developments and performing version updates and upgrades.
  • Develop visually compelling and user-friendly web interfaces by applying graphic design principles and leveraging advanced HTML and CSS, with a focus on professional branding, intuitive layout, effective typography, and responsive design. 

Data Management and Systems Administration:

  • SharePoint Administration: Manage and maintain SharePoint sites related to executive operations, including document libraries, calendars, and task lists. Ensure site content is organized, up-to-date, and accessible to authorized users.
  • PULSE Data Integration: Accurately and efficiently integrate pulse data into SharePoint platforms, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • CATMS Tasking Management: Utilize CATMS for task creation, assignment, tracking, and reporting to ensure accountability and effective management of tasks related to DBO/Executive Operations.

Liaison and Coordination:

  • Inter-Office Coordination: Coordinate with other DoD offices and agencies to gather information, resolve issues, and ensure alignment on strategic initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, program managers, and administrative staff. 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on the use of SharePoint, and other relevant tools and systems.
  • Records Management: Maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with DoD policies and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience supporting executive level DoD leadership, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint functionality.
  • Proficient in graphic design principles, including layout, color theory, and typography.
  • Knowledgeable in fundamental JavaScript concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to design web pages that meet and maintain professional visual standards.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Existing knowledge of DoD/OSD, a strategic mindset, good written and oral communications skills commensurate with daily interaction at the Under Secretary level.
  • Experience in leading and providing technical guidance and direction involving multiple projects of high complexity.
  • Must have experience in managing customer expectations and working directly with customers.
  • Must have outstanding customer service abilities, initiative, judgement, creativity, flexibility, and confidence.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.

The target salary range for this position is up to $145,000. The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
