LMI is seeking an acquisition strategist to support advancing technology modernization, product innovation, and strategic growth initiatives across the federal market. This role partners closely with growth, capture, technical, and program leadership to navigate complex acquisition environments and enable delivery of transformative technology solutions. The selected candidate will contribute to a wide range of strategic contracting and acquisition activities supporting technology modernization, product development, and mission delivery efforts across the enterprise.  

This role requires a deep understanding of government procurement processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders and clients to problem solve and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations and procurement strategies, combined with experience supporting technology-focused environments involving AI, software development, hardware integration, digital modernization, or product-oriented commercialization initiatives. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market, acquisition, and competitive analysis to identify emerging government technology priorities, contracting opportunities, and industry trends. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and secure government contracts. 
  • Monitor evolving acquisition trends, customer priorities, and industry developments to inform strategic growth and technology investment decisions. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with technical, solutioning, pricing, legal, contracts, and business leaders to support compliant, timely, and competitive submissions. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, key officials, and industry partners. 
  • Represent the organization in customer engagements, conferences and industry meetings. 
  • Ensure alignment with government regulations, contractual obligations, and internal governance standards across complex technology and R&D portfolios. 
  • Conduct ongoing contract and acquisition research to remain current on FAR, DFARS, agency supplements, policy updates, and emerging acquisition authorities. 
  • Provide strategic contractual guidance and risk-informed recommendations related to technology transition, productization, commercialization, and mission delivery objectives. 
  • Drive contract strategy, review, negotiation, and execution activities that enable delivery of innovative software, hardware, AI, and platform-based solutions. 
  • Provide guidance on SBIR/STTR regulations, intellectual property rights, data rights, OTA considerations, and other acquisition strategies supporting innovation and product adoption. 
  • Contribute to the modernization and continuous improvement of contracting policies, processes, and tools to support scalable technology delivery. 
  • Enable the successful transition of technologies and capabilities into scalable, mission ready solutions supporting customer outcomes and enterprise growth. 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in government contracting, procurement, or a related field 
  • Extensive knowledge of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements 
  • Proven experience in proposal evaluation, contract negotiation, pricing and policy 
  • Demonstrated ability to advise senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders on complex acquisition and contractual matters 
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and executive briefing skills 
  • Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, cross-functional, and evolving environments 
  • Experience supporting technology-focused initiatives involving software, hardware, AI, digital modernization, or product-based solutions preferred 
  • Proficiency with relevant software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)  
  • Prior experience having an Unlimited Contracting Warrant preferred  
  • Ability to develop and deliver briefings on complex topics tailored to a range of audiences 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, government, or related field 
  • Ability to travel and meet directly w/ key clients in partnership with our business leaders 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S Government security clearance
