Overview

LMI is seeking skilled and motivated Technical Program Operations Professionals to support a high-priority modernization initiative for a federal client. This role sits within a dynamic program management office and requires someone who excels at organizing and standardizing the flow of information, managing project schedules and interdependencies, and delivering clear communication across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. 

 

The ideal candidate brings experience supporting federal government contracts, analyzing project data, tracking program activities, and leveraging modern tools — including Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and AI/Machine Learning — to streamline operations and enhance client visibility. We welcome applicants across a range of experience levels; responsibilities and scope will be calibrated to the selected candidate's background and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the program management office to support and oversee multiple stakeholders, project workstreams, and schedule interdependencies 
  • Develop, maintain, and report on integrated project plans, schedules, and status updates that provide leadership with clear visibility into program health 
  • Effectively communicate with geographically dispersed project teams including subcontractors, subject matter experts, and client personnel 
  • Work with project stakeholders to resolve complex scheduling and operational issues, escalating risks and resource challenges as appropriate 
  • Facilitate and/or participate in program meetings including Agile/Scrum ceremonies, steering committees, and client briefings 
  • Produce and publish meeting minutes, action items, and status reports covering program risks, budget issues, resource considerations, and schedule performance 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in requirements decomposition and systems integration 
  • Support consulting projects and initiatives, including automating team infrastructure and implementing operational improvements 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program strategies and plans; develop project deliverables, conduct analysis, and respond to client requests 
  • Champion the adoption of modern tools and platforms — including Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and AI/ML solutions — to enhance program transparency and operational efficiency 
  • Organize, track, and maintain sensitive program data, projections, and deliverables in alignment with contractual and client requirements 
  • Identify and implement process improvements that streamline operations and strengthen communication across the program team and client organization 
  • Align personal goals with team objectives and uphold the highest standards of ethical behavior 
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as directed, including research, communications, and reporting 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in one or more of the following areas: technical project/program management; project scheduling; business process improvement; business consulting; or continuous improvement 
  • Years of experience required will vary based on the level and scope of the role 
  • Experience supporting government contracts, analyzing project data, compiling resource management information, and tracking program activities 
  • Demonstrated ability to track multiple project interdependencies, manage project lifecycles, and exercise critical thinking under ambiguity 
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft products including Power Apps, Power BI, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively within project constraints 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to varied audiences, including executive stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated soft skills including relationship building, influencing others, emotional intelligence, and collaborative teamwork 
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills and sound business acumen 
  • Ability to navigate complex government organizations and build positive professional relationships 
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous, and collaborative virtual environment 
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and take initiative to exceed client expectations 

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified or equivalent 
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent) 
  • Experience with or certification in: SAFeProSci; Lean Six Sigma; CPBA; or LUMA Human Centered Design 
  • Working knowledge of contract administration processes for T&M and FFP task orders 
  • Consultancy experience supporting large, complex projects or program portfolios 
  • Experience with project management software, dashboards, and automated agile tools 
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following tools: Digital.ai (Version One); ServiceNow; AppDynamics / Splunk; GitHub; OpenText (ALM); MS Power Suite (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) 
  • Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) 
  • Experience with AI/LLM prompt engineering, Machine Learning, and AI-enabled development tools 
  • Prior experience supporting USPS or other large federal agency IT transformation programs 

 

Target salary range: $100,000 - $160,000
