NASA Internships achieves these goals by exposing students and educators, who reflect the full diversity of the nation, to NASA missions. Participants will undertake mentor-guided internships at NASA field centers and facilities under the tutelage of NASA scientists, engineers, and others, or may be embedded with research teams working on NASA-related STEM activities at aerospace contractors, government research laboratories, or academic institutions. While the primary focus of internships is STEM-related, internships in professional support areas needed for NASA to achieve its mission (e.g., finance, communications, human resources, etc.) are also included. The goal is to implement a quality, hands-on experiential learning experience which offers talented students from a broad cross-section of academic institutions exposure to NASA. NASA Internships includes high school through post-graduate students as well as educators.
